Whether you drive a car or a big rig, good roads are important. We all have a stake in Idaho’s roads – and we all should pay our fair share. We think that’s a belief all Idahoans share.

Does Idaho need better roads? What’s the fairest way to pay for repairs to roads and bridges? Since good roads help lead to a better economy, what path should Idaho follow to take care of our aging roads?

We think those are questions worth talking about. It’s pretty clear that Idaho needs better roads. Since the late 1990s, we’ve been scrimping on maintenance, and we’re all paying the price. Poorly maintained roads are bad for the economy and tough on vehicles. It’s time to solve this problem.

Our guiding principle is simple: The solution we choose has to be fair to both cars and trucks. We all use the roads, and we all should pay our fair share – no more, no less. That’s what we mean by Better Roads, Fair Funding for Idaho.

If we keep that principle in mind, we can come up with a solution together – one that’s fair to everyone.
